Hayoun Kim’s project recieved Artisa’s Professional Development award through Goldsmith’s BA Design course in 2015. This project translates our everyday interaction in a domestic space into a tune, exploring how we can capture memory of place, mapping the space so each repeated motion becomes a sound that layers together to create a rich soundscape.
The event ran for three days during the London Design Festival 2015. At the centre of the experience was an installation that would allow people to move through a furnished domestic setting, composing their own tune in real time. Choreographed performances ran alongside this installation to provide another dimension to the event. Over the period of the Festival these tunes were shared online, creating a multi-layered soundtrack - echoes of people’s presence in a home.
